and even then, Jesus wins.

In my middle-young adult life there has been truths that always seem to emerge. In the darkness of the valleys and the midst of the mountain tops there is always one constant. Jesus always wins.
I am not a typical Christ follower. I am not a typical adult. I am not a typical women or mother or anything really. However, in my young life, I have truly experienced both the valleys and the mountains.
Here is what I have learned on the journey.

When life is going well, Jesus still wins.
When you succeed, Jesus still wins.
When you get your first job, Jesus still wins.
When you get accepted into college, Jesus still wins.
When all you can do is smile, Jesus still wins.
When you are humble, Jesus still wins.
When you laugh until you cry, Jesus still wins.
When he changes your life with a ring, Jesus still wins.
When you buy your first house, Jesus still wins.
When you are surrounded by your tribe, Jesus still wins.
When you find yourself and love yourself, Jesus still wins.
When you are full of life, Jesus still wins.
When you find true joy, Jesus still wins.
When you love, Jesus still wins.
When you forgive, Jesus still wins.
When you are injured, Jesus still wins.
When you are broken or hurt, Jesus still wins.
When you feel alone, Jesus still wins.
When you are lied to or do the lying, Jesus still wins.
When they leave, Jesus still wins.
When expectations fall short, Jesus still wins.
When you fail, Jesus still wins.
When you are anxious, Jesus still wins.
When tears replace words, Jesus still wins.
When you are betrayed, Jesus still wins.
When your heart is broken, Jesus still wins.
When your body fails you, Jesus still wins.
When you push people away, Jesus still wins.
When you feel you aren’t worth fighting for, Jesus still wins.

I have learned in my young life, that even in the cornfed midwest, the authentic deep south, in the slums of India, the bush and jungles of Africa, in the historical streets of Europe, and the impoverished communities of Central America that Jesus still wins.

I have learned that when you willingly give your heart knowing that it could be broken, that Jesus still wins.

I have learned that even then Jesus still wins.

Jesus always wins.
