My Credo

In 8th grade creative writing class we had to write our life credo. At first most of us saw it as another silly assignment. Somewhere along the way I really started to enjoy thinking about those undeniable truths that I want to live by.

I am only 25 years old, but have had my share of "life." These are just a few of the truths I have learned from my experiences along the way. Sometimes I need to be reminded of these myself. I am the furthest thing from perfect and will never say I am. This is what I have learned during my 25 years...

1.      Not all family is related to you.
2.    No matter how bad it is, the sun always comes up in the morning.
3.     Being upset about yesterday does not make tomorrow any better.
4.    Being loyal is just as important as being honest.
5.     A bad situation is never as bad as it seems.
6.     Everyone is going through something.
7.     The best days usually are not planned.
8.     Memories are more valuable than money.
9.     People will only respect you as much as you respect yourself.
10  You can’t please everyone.
11      Regret nothing. Learn from it and move on.
12   Love does exist.
13    The clock of life is ticking…so love hard and never hold back.
14    You must forgive to be forgiven.
15     Laughter really is the best medicine.
16     Everything will be okay.
17     Seek solutions not problems.
18     Everyone has an expiration date. Enjoy life now not "later."
19    Change is hard, but sometimes it is necessary and for the best.
